Is a Cruise Really the Ideal Vacation?

For most of us a vacation means lying somewhere under the warm sun on a beach where we can take advantage of great cuisine and entertainment without driving too far, and yet have time to ourselves when we choose. Well, such a vacation is possible, winter or summer if you sign up for a cruise.

Why a Cruise Rocks Your Money and Time

A cruise is by far the best vacation deal you can get and here are the reasons why: First, the voyage offers multiple destinations while only requiring you to pack and unpack just one time. An ideal cruise lasts seven days — not too long and not too short, so you will have time to be at sea and enjoy sailing while also visiting at least three different destinations along the way.

A cruise package comes with everything inclusive, which basically means that when you pay one price upon booking a cabin, your dining and entertainment are already paid for during the entire cruise. Amazing, isn’t it, not having to worry where to eat every evening or sticking to a drinks and dancing budget? On a cruise you will find something to eat at any time of the day or night; in fact, this is one thing cruises are most famous for – their exceptional round the clock cuisine.

All cruise liners provide a variety of entertainment for every taste and age group. You will find live shows, dancing before dinner, late nigh movies in the on board cinema hall, late night discothèque and a piano bar to name a few. In short you will find more activity than you can handle every evening.  To keep track of every day’s activity make sure to follow the onboard chronicle where all programs will be listed on a daily basis. This chronicle is usually delivered in your cabin or can be found at the front desk.

If you want to keep in shape – especially since the food is always so good and tempting you to may indulge in more than you planned — all ships provide a fully-equipped gym with a fitness instructor that will help you exercise and learn how to keep the pounds off.

To pamper yourself rather than sweating until you’re sore, an onboard spa is available as well where experienced massage therapists will relax your every muscle. The beauty salon can provide the desired hairstyle for every evening. Please note that spa and beauty salon services are charged separately and do not come as part of the cruise package.

Helpful Tips

To prevent getting seasick bring along motion sickness pills, which should be consumed a half-hour before the ship leave port. If you don’t like taking pills there are also bands available, which should be placed around each wrist as per the indications provided on the box. If you forget any of the essential items such toothpaste, Rolaids, mouthwash or even seasickness pills the shops onboard are very well stocked and will be able to attend to your every need. Happy cruising!
